Calm & Clear ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy.
This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Who Can Use This App
Calm & Clear is intended for users 13 years of age and older. We require a date
of birth on first launch and do not knowingly collect personal information from
children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account, we
will delete it promptly.
What We Collect
- Mood check-ins (emoji label only — no free-text mood)
- Pre-session stress scores (1–5 scale)
- Session durations (breathing and Pomodoro focus)
- Reflection journal entries (stored securely in our database)
- Reframing exercise entries (thought text you type)
- Goals you create and mark complete
- Basics lesson progress
- Your zip code (optional, for local air quality)
- Your display name (optional)
- App usage signals for internal analytics (hashed device ID — never your name or email)
What We Do NOT Collect
- Your location beyond the zip code you optionally provide
- Any health or medical diagnoses
- Contacts, calendar, camera, or microphone access
- Browsing history or data from other apps
- Payment information (the app is free)
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to provide and improve the app experience:
- Showing your streaks, growth level, and history
- Personalizing insights and the Daily Reflection card
- Displaying local air quality on the Environment screen
- Understanding which features are most helpful (aggregate, anonymized analytics only)
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers or third-party marketers.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely on Supabase (hosted in the United States). All data is
scoped to your account using row-level security — no other user can read your entries.
Connections are encrypted via TLS.
Your Rights
You can delete your logged activity at any time from
Settings → Privacy → Delete My Data.
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from
Settings → Privacy → Delete Account. This is irreversible.

Third-Party Services
- Supabase — database and authentication
- Open-Meteo — weather data (no personal data sent)
- Zippopotam.us — zip-to-city lookup (no personal data sent)
- TelemetryDeck — anonymized analytics (hashed device ID only, no PII)
Each service has its own privacy policy.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Significant changes will be
communicated through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
